Australia: Projects in Western Australia

◗ Perth Metro Area Express (MEX). Light rail of 22 kilometres long linking Mirrabooka in the north with the CBD, before splitting into two branches to the Victoria Park Transfer Station in the east (via the Causeway) and Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre in the west (via West Perth ). The construction works will begin in 2019 and are expected to end in 2022.

◗ Airport Rail Link (Perth). Forrestfield-Airport Link is the new rail line linking Forrestfield with the city, connecting the eastern suburbs of Perth with train connections for the first time and allowing to arrive to the Airport 5 minutes before than by car. This line will connect the line of Mindland with Forrestfield through underground tunnels. This project will cost 2,000 million Australian dollars and is expected to be completed in 2020.

◗ Oakajee Port and Rail. This project includes the Port of Oakajee (20 km from Geraldton) and a railway network of 570 km linking the mines of the central-western region with the position. The project has an estimated cost of 4,370 million Australian dollars and is under development.

◗ Project Iron Boomerang. This project aims to revolutionize the world of manufactured steel connecting Pilbara’s iron ore mines in Western Australia, with coal mines in the Bowen Basin of North Queesland, through a system of rails of 3,300 kilometres. It is included in one of the largest projects in Australia: the East West Line Parks. Construction works have already begun and are expected to end in 2022.
