Amurrio Ferrocarril y Equipos is completing on schedule the supply of 18 RE-railers and five dilatation devices to be installed in the Central Railway of Uruguay.
The size of the re-railers is 18 x 3 m. and 15 Tn, and they are supplied assembled in a single piece, an aspect that has required an effort in transport, which has been done by road to the port of Bilbao, and by sea to the port of Montevideo.
One of the re-railers has the particularity of being in a clotoid, which means that all the parts that make it up are curved.
The order, which was formalised in May, is an extension of the contract under which Amurrio has already supplied more than a hundred turnouts for the Central Railway of Uruguay, a 273 km route that will allow freight trains to run at 80 km/h between Paso de Los Toros and the port of Montevideo.
