A faster and tourists-friendly access brings Renfe’s Madrid commuter at the forefront of technology together with SICE

SICE will implement 280 access control units at 16 stations of the RENFE commuter train network in Madrid.

The new access control gates implemented by SICE adapts to the new habits of travellers and encourages the use of transport by tourists and occasional users, by allowing payment by Credit card or any smart device linked to a means of payment.

The new access control gates will make it possible to manage the fare structure of the Madrid consortium card, Renfe’s card, and the implementation of EMV payment in the access control gates. It will also make it possible to enter the Madrid commuter network with authorised Long Distance or High-Speed tickets, without having to go to the ticket office.

The installation of the equipment will be carried out progressively and will help the passengers flow.
