Adif is the Spanish Rail Infrastructure Manager. under the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility. It is a public company in charge of managing the main network in Spain, including over 4.000 km of High Speed lines, as well as 11.000 km of conventional and commuter lines, stations and main freight terminals. Adif allocates capacity to railway companies, in a liberalized market, both for freight since 2005 and passenger traffic on the High Speed lines since 2020. Maintenance, traffic management and renewals or construction of new lines are also some of Adif’s main tasks.
