Alstom has been awarded a contract by Metro do Porto to supply the signalling, safety and control systems for Metro do Porto’s new pink line. Alstom will equip the new line with the Cityflo 250 signalling system, including a state-of-the-art interlocking, enabling real-time vehicle monitoring. The system’s engineering, installation and commissioning will be developed at Alstom’s site in Maia, in the Porto district.
Metro do Porto is one of the largest tramway systems in the world, with more than 70 million passengers per year, 78 km of tracks and six lines. Alstom supplied the network, with 102 trains currently in service, and the onboard signalling systems. Alstom continues to support Metro do Porto’s growth, providing the onboard ATP (Automatic Train Protection) system for the 18 new trains added to the fleet.
