Ardanuy Ingeniería recently hosted a Summit for the technical assistance contract that the Company has been working on for the Spanish Railway Authority (ADIF). The purpose of the contract is to aide in the development, implementation and application of common safety methods (CSM’s). The Summit was held in the main lecture hall of ADIF’s Traffic Training Center.
Ardanuy has put together a highly competent team of engineers who are currently carrying out the contract and working on ensuring and improving compliance with the requirements of European Regulations which define and outline Common Safety Methods in terms of all activities being performed by ADIF’s Maintenance Directorate and Technical Directorate which are both part of the General Directorate of Maintenance and Repair. The team is also in charge of adapting all of ADIF’s safety procedures so that they are in line with the new European regulatory framework for railway safety. The implementation of these activities, based on the assessment of railway risks, helps to improve the management of all traffic risks and, in turn, guarantees that the control, monitoring and supervision of these kinds are risks are continuously improved on over time.
The Summit provided a great opportunity for those working on the contract to meet and discuss Common Safety Methods and how they are being developed. Various specialists gave talks in which they not only presented the technical nature of their work, but also detailed specific cases they had worked on to demonstrate the skills and knowledge acquired and learned over the duration of the contract.
