CAF Turnkey & Engineering to modify the Cairo Metro Kozzika Depot

CAF Turnkey & Engineering (CAF T&E) will carry out the refurbishing work on the Kozzika Depot, as part of the CAF Group’s general contract for the refurbishment of 23 rolling stock units of the Cairo Metro System (Egypt).

This marks the first CAF T&E project to be completed in this country. It will be specifically responsible for the design, management, and completion of the transformation work for the 19,800m2 area making up the Depot, adapting it to meet the rolling stock refurbishment work requirements. The work includes, amongst others, removing the catenary, converting the ballasted track into ballast less track, fitting the compressed air system and carrying out electrical installation in the workshops.

The contract the CAF Group has entered into with the national company NAT (National Authority for Tunnels) also includes the maintenance work for this new work area for more than five years.
