Ineco is in charge of the feasibility study for the development of the railway between Medellín and Bogotá in Colombia, through the Aburrá Valley. This project, financed by the Fund for the Internationalisation of Enterprise (FIEM), is the first step in planning to transform connectivity between the country’s two main cities, which are currently only accessible by air or car.
For the development of this study, the technical feasibility of the line will be analysed through various alternatives, calculating the potential demand, designing the route and a proposal for operation. Depending on the initial information available, Ineco will evaluate the application of AI through the Charli tool, an innovative software developed by Ineco, designed to speed up layout work, based on Machine Learning techniques. Finally, an economic feasibility study of the corridor and a preliminary proposal of management and financing models for the project will be carried out.
