First Metaverse of the railway sector

ALSTOM HAS ENTERED THE METAVERSE WITH ITS OWN VIRTUAL REALITY ENVIRONMENT, THE FIRST IN THE RAIL INDUSTRY.

This new tool allows to explore railway products and solutions through interactive simulations and fleet management systems.

The virtual space consists in a more than 4 km2 city where trains, metros, locomotives, trams, and monorails run in a detailed 3D version of the real solutions. All these solutions can be approached at a high detail level to analyse their parts and components, capabilities and functionalities. In addition to the rolling stock display, it is possible to watch them move around the city and adjust their operation through the integrated fleet management systems. The complexity of the demonstrations that can be displayed is also adjustable depending on whom they are addressing, emphasising the different levels of detail and functionalities.

The new metaverse provides multiple functions for internal and external audiences. For employees, it is a tool to learn more about the different technologies available at a level of detail and interaction not experienced before. In addition, it also facilitates knowledge transfer and collaboration between teams around the world for the development of new solutions.

This new tool provides a complete overview of sustainable and smart mobility solutions to external audiences: operators, suppliers, partners or the general public. It also provides the ability to showcase digital mobility solutions that may not be as visual as rolling stock or components and help understand their role in railway operations.
