Greece is a priority market for the Spanish railway industry due to the Investments planned in the short and medium term for integration and modernisation of the national transport network and the development of international connections.
On the 6th of March, a new session of the International Markets Forum was held, with a day focused on Greece, with the participation of more than 20 entities.
In the opening made by Pantelis Gassios, Director of the Economic and Trade Office of the Embassy of Greece in Spain, the situation of the country in macroeconomic terms was contextualised, as well as its relationship with Spain.
Then, Aitor Ballestero, Head of Business Development and Intelligence at Mafex, presented the study carried out on Greece and the opportunities it offers for the members of Mafex, including the details of the projects for the modernisation and expansion of the Greek railway network. Subsequently, José María Blasco, Director of Infrastructure, Health, and ICT at ICEX, gave a presentation on the business mission to Greece.
Subsequently, Bruce Armistead, Director of Operations and Maintenance for the California High-Speed Rail Authority, gave a presentation on the landmark project, with a detailed update on its status.
Finally, Ane Fernández, International Trade Advisor, moderated the round table with Jaime García from Indra and Mercedes Sierra from Sener, where both companies shared their experience in the country.
