Metro Washington drivers enhance their training with new simulators developed by CITEF

Following an international tender in 2020, CITEF was selected to design, develop and install 20 driver-training simulators for WMATA (Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority), United States, at four different locations within its network. The simulation software includes the six lines in operation, with a total of 180 kilometres, 93 stations and 8 depots, as well as a simulation module for the 7000 train, Kawasaki, which includes reproduction of all driving and operating modes and main malfunctions.

Thanks to the inclusion of this new training technology, many new train operators have entered a hands-on learning process earlier, improving the overall effectiveness and efficiency of training thanks to this industry-leading new rail simulation technology.
