Mission Critical Services lead the way to FRMCS

TELTRONIC HAS DEVELOPED AN MCX PLATFORM THAT IS CONFIGURED AS AN INTEGRATED FRMCS-READY SOLUTION.

The term MCX (Mission Critical Services) refers to a set of critical communication applications for broadband networks that provide voice (MCPTT), data (MCData) and video (MCVideo) services, as well as the infrastructure that supports them.

Defined by 3GPP, they are the foundation on which FRMCS is based, the future railway mobile communication system that will replace GSM-R and, hand in hand with 5G technology, will be key to the digitisation of rail transport.

Mission-critical telecommunication systems have undergone a spectacular evolution, and their implementation in railway environments enables innovations such as autonomous trains, remote surveillance, predictive maintenance, more accurate railway signalling and, in general, a more efficient and safer operation.

Teltronic has developed an MCX platform that is configured as an integrated FRMCS-ready solution. This includes private LTE/5G infrastructures, which offer the highest levels of quality of service and availability and even enable integration with TETRA technology.

The solution also includes both the on-board equipment that maintains the train-ground connection at all times and enables integration with other subsystems: video surveillance, PIS, public address, intercom, etc., as well as the radio terminals used by security and maintenance personnel.

Finally, Teltronic’s control centre solution, CeCoCo, is configured as a platform that integrates the MCX dispatch function, video, train alarms and the different technologies that make the operation possible.
