New meeting of the US working group

ON 13TH MARCH, MAFEX ORGANISED A FOLLOW-UP MEETING OF THE UNITED STATES-CANADA WORKING GROUP THAT THE PARTNERSHIP HOSTS WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF ICEX-SPAIN TRADE AND INVESTMENT, AND THE ECONOMIC AND TRADE OFFICES OF WASHINGTON AND CHICAGO.

At the beginning of the session, ICEX-Spain Trade and Investment presented its strategy in the railway sector and the different activities planned for this year.

Subsequently, representatives of the Economic and Trade Office of the Embassy of Spain in Washington presented a summary of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and its impact on the US railway sector. The Act included an analysis of the operation of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) in the US and the limitations of “Buy America” for Spanish companies.

A presentation was made on the development of high-speed corridors in the country from Chicago’s Economic and Trade Office.
In the end, the Working Group participants were able to share doubts and concerns with the representatives of ICEX-Spain Trade and Investment and the Economic and Trade Offices.
