ITSS IS THE ONLY SPANISH COMPANY WHICH DEVELOPED HOT BOX AND HOT WHEEL DETECTORS. PEGASUS IS THE FLAGSHIP OF THE ITSS BRAND.
Founded in 2005, Ibérica Tecnología en Sistemas de Seguridad Ferroviarios (ITSS), based in Sagunto (Valencia), is the only Spanish company which developed Hot Box and Hot Wheel Detectors, being, in turn, one of the three European companies that offer this type of product using high technology with multi-beam infrared light reading.
The HABD and HWD scanners of the ITSS system named PEGASUS are temperature detection equipment for the axle boxes of the bearings, the wheels and the brake discs of moving trains.
PEGASUS is the flagship of the ITSS brand, due to its large number of features and reliability. This hazard warning system allows monitoring of the condition of rolling stock and prevents accidents (such as derailments).
Its major advances in this complex field make the PEGASUS unique equipment thanks to its innovation, especially due to:
- Being the only detection system that offers 10-beam infrared technology as standard. The multi-beam scanners monitor larger measurement areas, up to 140 mm wide, monitoring more points on the surface to be evaluated, gaining precision.
- Its redundant self-calibration, also exclusive. PEGASUS has integrated reference elements with redundant self-calibrating systems that increase precision and reliability.
- Intelligent anti-vibration control and acceleration gradient. ITSS has a patented system of integrated accelerometers dedicated to the longevity and reliability of the scanners that report alarms in the event of serious anomalies during the passage of trains that could affect the installation.
