Siemens Mobility has developed the solution ATO over ETCS to help to maximize capacity and optimize energy efficiency in the local transport network. While Sidytrac provides live forecasts that calculate energy demand on the electrical network, while managing and monitoring the electrical load on substations to prevent failure; and Sidytrac Energy Optimized Operations (EOO) optimizes energy efficiency; TPS.live reschedules trains in response to disruptions. Adding all the benefits of these applications the result is a train network operating with greater capacity, true energy efficiency and an even better passenger experience.
One delayed train can slow down the whole local transport system. To keep the network running smoothly the TPS.live application knows the location and speed of all the trains in the network and responds to delays using an algorithm to efficiently synchronize all deployed trains, optimizing multiple variables, such as train speed or stop duration, simultaneously adjusting all trains and timetables. SidyTrac Energy Optimized Operations (EOO) boosts efficiency via regenerative braking, which involves the precise timing of braking and acceleration.
These combined applications will increase network capacity by up to 30%, punctuality improving by up to 15% and savings up to 30% energy.
ATO over ETCS by Siemens Mobility is versatile and scalable and ready to be adapted to the rail network. The local transport system can be level up so that it truly meets the demands placed on it.
