SEGULA Technologies celebrates 20 years in Zaragoza

In 20 years, SEGULA has gone from having 8 people in Zaragoza, to having more than 200 dedicated exclusively to the development of rolling stock projects.

SEGULA Technologies began its journey in the railway sector in Spain in 2004, with the acquisition of a local engineering company of Zaragoza called GRINSA.  In these 20 years, SEGULA Zaragoza has grown year by year to the current figure of more than 200 people working in its offices in the city centre, as well as managing other workers in Catalonia, the Basque Country and Madrid, where the RAM-Safety and Signalling departments are currently located, one of SEGULA’s bets for 2024. Furthermore, as a result of this constant growth, since 2012 it has held the distinction of “International Centre of Excellence in the railway sector” within the international engineering group.

In the words of José Ángel Martín, Executive Director of the Rail Division in Spain since the beginning: “during all these years, SEGULA Zaragoza has experienced a great diversification in terms of areas of knowledge and service, which has led us to have the capacity to develop comprehensive projects for any type of rolling stock product. The challenges in the short and medium term are mainly to strengthen the areas of Systems Engineering and Software Development (as well as digital and electronics); and RAM-Safety. In addition, we have also started the year with the challenge of establishing the Signalling department. For this purpose, we have incorporated a person in charge of strengthening this area with the aim of providing an even more complete service to our customers, and consolidating our position as a benchmark engineering company not only in rolling stock, but also in the railway world“.
