
Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) has awarded to the joint venture formed by Siemens Rail Automation and Nertus Mantenimiento Ferroviario the contract for the renewal of the signaling system and ATP (Automatic Train Protection) in the single track sections of Lines 1 and 2 of Metrovalencia. The value of the project amounts to more than 48 million euros and the execution period will be 30 months.
The improvements will affect the Bétera-Seminari CEU and Col-legi El Vedat-Castelló sections of Line 1 and the Llíria-Paterna section of Line 2. On these routes, the work to be carried out by Siemens Rail Automation will include the installation of 15 new Westrace MK2 technology interlockings; the modification and updating of the affected interlockings and locks, all of them Siemens technology; replacement of the current Automatic Point Braking System (FAP) with an ERTMS Level 1; modification of the Valencia Sud CTC, also Siemens technology; installation of 62 new on-board equipment for S4300 series trains, LED signals, ACM250 axle counters, MD2000 drives, etc.
