The international presence is endorsed by the experience acquired, during the last thirty years, (on 21st April 1992, the first AVE connection between Madrid and Seville was launched), in the development of the Spanish high-speed railway network, which will have at the end of 2023 a network of more than 4,000 kilometres of UIC gauge tracks and a total investment of about 60 billion euros.

With this development, Spain has become the European country with the largest high-speed railway infrastructure, with convoys able to reach more than 300 kilometres per hour, and the second in the world only behind China.
